Pragati scholarship scheme for girl students
Pragati is a MHRD Scheme being implemented by of AICTE aimed at providing assistance for advancement of girls pursuing technical education. Total of 4000 scholarships (2000 for Degree and 2000 for Diploma) will be awarded annually.
Eligibility:The candidate should be admitted to 1st year of Degree/Diploma course in any of the AICTE approved Institution of respective year through Centralized Admission Process of the State/Central Government.
Two Girls Child per family are eligible, who's family income is not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of married girl, the income of parents/in-laws, whichever is higher will be considered).
Selection: The selection of candidate will be made on merit on the basis of qualifying examination to peruse the respective Technical Degree/Diploma course from any of the AICTE approved institution.
Amount of scholarship: Tuition Fee of Rs. 30,000/- or at actual, whichever is less and Rs.2000/- per month for 10 months as incidentals charges each year.In case of Tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, students are eligible to get an amount of Rs. 30,000/- for the purchase of Books/Equipment/Softwares/ Laptop/Desktop/Vehicle/Fee paid towards competitive examination applications forms/exam.

Saksham scholarship scheme for specially abled student
Saksham is a MHRD Scheme being implemented by of AICTE aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially abled children to pursue technical education. Total of 1000 scholarships (500 for Degree and 500 for Diploma) will be awarded annually.

Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, Delhi has invited entries for the All India Children's Educational Audio Video Festival (AICEAVF), one of the major children's educational audio-video programme festivals of India.
The Festival organised along with the ICT Mela (Fair) will be held sometime in the last week of November, 2018, at Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, Delhi.
The event is being organized to promote creative expression amongst educational media professionals, teacher educators, trainee teachers, teachers and students.
Criteria for Selection: The Audio/Video/New Media/ICT programmes that are produced/developed from January 1, 2018 to October 31, 2018 are eligible for entry. An undertaking with regard to the production date of the programme should be given by the producer/institution failing which entries will be rejected.
Audio/Video/New Media/ICT Programmes submitted to the AICEAVF and ICT Mela must be suitable for children aged between 5 and 18 and for teachers of these children in any of the age groups, (i) Pre - Primary and Primary Level : 05 - 11 years (ii) Upper Primary: 11 - 14 years (iii) Secondary Level : 14 - 16 years or (iv) Senior Secondary: 16 - 18 years
Audio/Video/New Media programme(s) entries other than in Hindi/ English should have subtitling in Hindi/ English.
The Programme content should be creative and should have broad appeal and should demonstrate excellent artistic and technical skills. Content should speak to and respect children of diverse backgrounds and cultures positively. The duration of the Audio/Video/New Media/ICT Program should not be less than 10 minutes and should not exceed 30 minutes. The submitted programme should be having the license of CC BY-NC-ND and CC BY-SA. None of the material used in production like images, graphics, stock footage etc. should be copyrighted
Categories of Awards:
Best Programme: The best audio, video and ICT/New Media for different categories (Pre - Primary and Primary Level, Upper Primary Level, Secondary Level, Senior Secondary Level and Teachers) will be awarded.
Best Audio Programmes in each category will carry a cash prize of Rs 20,000/- along with a certificate and trophy.
Best Video Programmes in each category will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 40,000/- along with a certificate and trophy.
Best programme in New Media/ ICT in each of the categories will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 40,000/- along with a certificate and trophy.
Individual Excellence Awards: These awards will be given for excellence in any of the following talent: Best script, Editing, Best Voice Over, Best camerawork, Best set designing, Sound recording, Animation, Graphics, Best Direction, etc. Individual Excellence Awards will carry Cash Award of Rs. 5000/-, a trophy and certificate.
Special Category: One best Audio and Video programme each under special category will be awarded for the students of Secondary/Senior Secondary level on 'Life and Works of Mahatma Gandhi and their Relevance' to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Best Audio Programme will get a cash prize of Rs 20,000/- along with a certificate and trophy and the best Video Programme, a cash prize of Rs 40,000/- along with a certificate and trophy.
Jury Appreciation Awards will also be given for the programmes/ individual excellence, at the discretion of the Jury.
Rules & Regulations: Programmes made by compiling stock shots or any copyrighted graphics/images would not be eligible for competition. Each programme can be entered only in one category (either PPP/UP/SE/SS/TE). A copy of all the entries shall be retained by CIET and it would have non-exclusive rights to telecast/broadcast the award winning programmes and upload it on NROER website.
A Committee of Experts will shortlist the entries from the original list of entries received. All the shortlisted programmes will be judged by a common Jury (separately for Audio, Video and New Media). 23rd AICEAVF will not select programmes with excessive violence, sexual references, coarse language, use of substances or with content that advocates and supports racial, cultural, religious, or gender bias, with technical glitches, which, if not in English/Hindi, are not subtitled or dubbed into English/Hindi, which are aimed at audiences other than those falling in the specified criteria & Video programmes under New Media/ICT category.
ICT Mela: Along with the Audio Video festival, an ICT Mela will also be organized simultaneously. The purpose of this ICT mela will be to showcase the best practices/solutions related to the use of ICT in the area of school education and teacher education. These solutions must result in the enhanced learning. The ICT Mela will be non competitive. All such organizations willing to participate in this initiative may send a brief write up of what they would like to showcase in the ICT Mela. Only the selected organisations will be invited to showcase in ICT Mela.
Fee for submitting a programme for consideration is Rs. 200/-. It should be paid only in the form of Demand Draft (DD) in favour of Joint Director, CIET and Payable at New Delhi. There is no fee for the entries from CIET/PSSCIVE/NIE/RIEs.

Sainik School Kazhakootam, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications from boys only, for admission to Class VI and Class IX through All India Sainik School Entrance Examination to be held on 6th January, 2019 (Sunday).
The Sainik Schools aim at preparing boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy(NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune & Naval Academy(NA), Ezhimala, Kannur. The school follows the 10 + 2 science stream of CBSE.
For admission to Class VI, boys born between 1st April 2007 and 31st March 2009 (both days inclusive) are eligible. For admission to Class IX, boys born between 1st April 2004 and 31st March 2006 (both days inclusive) are eligible and they should be studying in class VIII in a recognised school.
Exam Pattern: The Entrance Exam for 2019-20 will be objective type question pattern to be answered on OMR sheet. For class VI question paper will be printed in English, Hindi & Malayalam languages as per choice given in application form by the candidate. For class IX the question paper will be printed in English language only.
The Entrance examination will be held at (a) Thiruvananthapuram (Sainik School Kazhakootam) (b) Kottayam (c) Ernakulam (d) Kozhikode (e) Palakkad subject to a minimum of 20 candidates applying per centre. The examination will commence at 10 am.
Written Examination for class VI will carry 300 marks and that for class IX, 400 marks.
The merit list for admission to the Sainik School would be compiled on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate. In case there is a tie with regard to overall marks, the marks for Mathematics would be considered. In case there is a tie here also the marks for English for Class IX and Intelligence Test for class VI will be considered and thereafter the marks for General Science for class IX and Language for class VI. In case there is a tie there also the boy younger in age will be selected. Marks obtained in the written test will determine his position in the final merit list.
The minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates as well as children of Defence Services Personnel and Ex-servicemen will be 25% in each subject with 40% in aggregate. In the case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates, minimum qualifying standards are not required and they will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within these categories. In case a SC/ST candidate comes in the general merit on his own, he would be admitted against general seat and will not be adjusted against the reserved share of SC/ST seats.
Total number of vacancies (Approximate) for Class VI is 60 and that for Class IX, 15. Vacancies may change based on actual availability of seats at the time of admission.
The admissions will be made strictly in accordance with the merit attained in the Entrance Examination and Medical fitness of candidates.
Reservation: 15 % for SC and 7.5% for ST. Out of remaining seats 67% seats are reserved for Kerala Domicile - General and Defence (75:25) - and 33% are reserved for other state candidates. Detailed split up of vacancies are given in the prospectus.

Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi has invited nominations for the INSA Medal for Young Scientists 2019.
The Medals awarded annually are intended to honour talented young Indian scientists in recognition of their outstanding contributions in any branch of Science or Technology coming within the purview of the Academy. The research carried out in India by the nominees will be taken into consideration for the award.
There will be 30 awards carrying Cash Prize and Research Grant. Each awardee will be presented a Medal, a certificate, and cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.
Nomination Procedure: Candidates may be nominated by Fellows of the Indian National Science Academy, previous recipients of INSA Medal for Young Scientists, national scientific societies, university faculties, post-graduate departments or research institutions. A nomination will remain valid for consideration for 3 years or the eligibility age whichever expires earlier.
Nominated Scientist should have been born on or after 1st January 1984. Self-nominations will not be considered.
Nomination has to be made in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) available in the Notification at /www.insaindia.res.in/ (News Link), along with all supporting documents.

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) has invited applications under the Scheme for Promoting Young Talents in Science (SPYTiS).
The schemes SPYTiS-I and SPYTiS-II, have been launched as Special programmes for students from Schools, Polytechnic colleges and those admitted to Undergraduate level courses in Colleges for doing Science Projects.
SPYTiS-I aims to identify and nurture young talents among school children of Class VIII-XII, to carry out Science projects. Under the scheme, a group consisting of 2 or more but maximum of 5 students from a school will be selected for the award of Rs.5,000/- for doing the project. The duration of the project is one year.
SPYTiS-II, is to provide research support to young talents enrolled in polytechnic colleges and undergraduate courses in colleges for doing science projects. Under the scheme, those who have innovative ideas in Science & Technology and studying in these institutions, will be provided financial assistance of Rs.10,000/- for conducting projects. A group shall consist of a maximum of 5 students. The support will be essentially project based and will be given for a period of one year.

Under both schemes, grant will be sanctioned to the host institution and the student has to work under the guidance/supervision of a teacher. National Board of Examinations (NBE) will hold the next Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), the Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications, on 14th December, 2018 as a Computer Based Test, at various test centres across the Country.
As per the Screening Test Regulations 2002, an Indian citizen / overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE)/Screening Test.
Eligibility: Applicant must be a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India. Applicant should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated. The Primary Medical Qualification is to be acquired latest by 30th November 2018.
Those holding an Under Graduate medical qualification from Australia/Canada/New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America and also a Post Graduate medical qualification in Australia/Canada/ New Zealand/ United Kingdom/United States of America and has been recognized for enrolment as medical practitioner in that country are not required to qualify the Screening Test if seeking provisional or permanent registration.
There are no restrictions on number of attempts that one can be avail for the FMGE.
Exam Centres: FMGE will be held at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi/New Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mohali/Chandigharh, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam. At the time of online submission of application form, applicant will be required to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. The choice of city will depend on availability of the test centres in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis. During submission of online application form, applicant will be able to see only those cities where testing seats are available. While the city will be chosen by the candidate himself / herself at the time of online submission of application form, allotment of test centre/venue in the chosen city shall be done by NBE.
Scheme of Examination: The examination to be delivered using computer network, will have one paper, comprising 300 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English language only, delivered in two parts, each having 150 questions, to be taken in a single day. Each question carries one mark. There shall be no negative marking for incorrect answers. Part A will be held from 9 am to 11.30 am and Part B, from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. The Syllabus for the test shall comprise of subjects /knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India. Application Fee: The application fee for FMGE is Rs. 5500/- which is inclusive of examination fees and information bulletin. The fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks of India or through Net Banking.

Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala, has invited applications for the ASPIRE Scholarships 2018-19.
The Scholarships are given to Post Graduate, M.Phil and PhD students of Colleges affiliated to the Universities in Kerala and those studying in the Teaching Departments under the Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi, Calicut, Kannur Universities, Cochin University of Science and Technology and the Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University.
The Scholarships are being awarded for engaging in a Project work/Internship of short duration. Those selected would get a scholarship of Rs.8000/- per month for a period of 1 month for PG, 2 months for M.Phil and 4 months for PhD. The award will be made in two instalments, the first being at the time of joining and the second after the report is uploaded on completion of the Project work/Internship.
Applicant should be studying in the second year of the Post Graduate course or should be a student of MPhil or Phd in an affiliated Government/Aided College or in a teaching Department of the 6 Universities identified. Applicant should be enrolled in a Government/Aided course. Applicant should have obtained minimum of 75% attendance in the first year of the course. They should have secured at least 55% marks in the qualifying course (Degree/Post Graduation). Applicant should have an account in his/her name, in a Nationalized/Commercial/Scheduled Bank having an IFS Code, and the same should be live at the time of submission of the application.
Applicant should obtain a letter of consent from the University approved Guide of the institution under whom, the Project/Internship is proposed to be conducted. The scholarship amount will be released through the bank account of the applicant on receipt of the report of Joining from the host institution after getting relieved from the parent institution.
Those selected have to complete the Internship/Project wok within the stipulated time period and submit the report on the same, failing which, the applicant will have to refund the entire amount received as scholarship, with interest. A copy of the report of the Project/Internship has to be submitted to the Director of Collegiate education also, within the stipulated time.

National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test for admission to Master in Dental Surgery (NEET-MDS) for Academic Session 2019 will be held on 14th December 2018.
NEET-MDS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various PG MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948 (amended from time to time). No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS Courses. NEET MDS is being conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
NEET- MDS 2019 will be the single eligibility cum entrance examination for the academic session 2019. It will be the basis of allotment to (i) 50% All India quota seats for MDS courses (all states except Jammu & Kashmir) (ii) State quota seats for MDS courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the state of Jammu & Kashmir) (iii) MDS courses at all Private Dental Colleges, Institutions & Universities all across the country and (iv) MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions. However, it does not cover MDS seats at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Eligibility: Applicant must possess a recognised Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree awarded by a university or institute in India, should be registered with the State Dental Council and obtained provisional or permanent registration; should have c0mpleted compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised Dental college. Those undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship/practical training after passing the final qualifying examination (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GOI/DCI), and is likely to complete the same by 31st March 2019 can take MDS NEET subject to the condition that compulsory rotatory internship is completed & provisional or permanent registration obtained latest by 31st March 2019 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March 2019, to be eligible for admission.

The syllabus for the exam shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all the subjects/syllabus taught during the BDS course. The exam will have 240 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks. On e mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
Qualifying marks: Applicants of the General category need marks at the 50th percentile score to qualify in NEET MDS. Those of SC/ST/OBC need score at the 40th percentile and UR PwD applicants, the score at the 45th percentile.
Result: Results will be declared by 15th January 2019.
NBE will conduct of NEET MDS, declare the result and provide NEET MDS rank to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the state governments. NBE has no role in counselling and allotment of seats. Documents verification and eligibility determination shall be undertaken at the time of counselling/admission process.

New Delhi:Photographers can now apply for a three-month visual documentation fellowship by online cultural resource Sahapedia that allows serious engagement with "subjects of cultural value in India and South Asia".
The second edition of the annual Frames Photography Grant will be awarded to 20 photographers, who will be shortlisted by photographer-curator and Delhi Photo Festival co-founder Dinesh Khanna, Sahapedia said in a statement.
The grant is organised to give emerging and established photographers the space and means to document the diverse anthropological, artistic and cultural landscapes of South Asia, and promote slow photography.
Selected photographers will be awarded Rs 25,000 and travel expenses. They would execute their photography projects for a duration of three months, beginning January 1, 2019.
The last date for submitting applications is November 15, and the selection process will conclude by December 25.

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune has invited applications for admission to the Basic Acting Workshop for Childrento be held from 3rd to 18th November, 2018 at FTII, Pune.
Indians in the age group of 7 to 11 years will be considered for the Morning batch and those from 12 to 17 years, for the Afternoon batch. No. of slots will be 20-25 for each batch. Course will not be conducted if there are less than 20 participants per batch. Sessions will be from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, for Morning batch for children of 7- 11 years age and from 2 pm to 6 pm, for Afternoon batch, for children of 12 - 17 years age.
Fee is Rs 15,000/- per participant to be paid by way of a Demand Draft, drawn in favour of 'Accounts Officer, Film and Television Institute of India, Pune', payable at Pune.

Kozhikode: A total of 105 companies participated in summer placements at the IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) and made offers to 421 students. Two students opted out of placements, a release said Monday.
Some of the new recruiters included ABInBev, AstraZeneca, Dr. Reddys Laboratories, Edelweiss GWAM, Flipkart, Siemens, and Uber, it said.
Accenture Strategy, Amazon, Deloitte USI, Goldman Sachs, Pidilite, Uber, and Wipro were some of the top recruiters, extending 81 offers to approximately 20 per cent of the 22nd batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) batch in total.
"Our summer placements this year have achieved unparalleled success. The students have triumphantly converted all the offers from recruiters.
Considering the economys volatility, recruiters are bound to be hesitant, but the merit of our students attracted a whole new list of companies visiting our campus,"IIMK director Prof Debashis Chatterjee said.
